Two men and one woman ended up under arrest last week after police officers on the Isle of Wight stopped a car because the driver wasn’t wearing a seat belt.

It was a decision that turned out for the police officers to be quite a coup.

Discovery of Cocaine
A 41 year old man and a 22 year old woman, both from Ventnor, were travelling in the car when it was pulled over near Sandown Airport.

Police decided to search the passengers and found Class A drugs (Cocaine).

Cannabis farm
The bigger discovery however, came when police went to the driver’s flat in Ventnor and discovered a Cannabis farm.

The man and woman were duly arrested and charged with production of Cannabis.

Residents living nearby told OnTheWight that strange smells had been coming from the property over recent weeks.

A third arrest
Another man, a 24 year old, was also arrested at the same address in Ventnor with possession of Cocaine and with an intent to supply illegal drugs.

They were all bailed until 28th September.
