Starting Sunday, 1st September, Southern Vectis will be implementing some changes to their fare structure. Passengers can expect adjustments in the cost of certain period passes and Rover Tickets.
These changes come as part of a wider review of fare pricing by the local bus operator, with a focus on maintaining affordable travel options for the community.
Increase in single adult and child fares
One of the key changes will be an increase in single adult fares for the Newport Local routes and the Adult Transfer Single, both of which will rise by 10p.
In addition, child singles and transfer singles will also see a 10p increase. This adjustment is part of the company’s efforts to balance operational costs while continuing to provide reliable services.
Nightrider fares and government-supported scheme
The Nightrider fares, which provide evening travel options, will remain unchanged at £7. This decision ensures that those who rely on late-night services will not be affected by the fare changes.
It’s important to note that all single fares will remain at £2 until the end of December 2024, thanks to a Government scheme supported by the Department for Transport. This initiative aims to keep public transport affordable and accessible for all passengers.
