Dear old Alex Dyke, the infamous IW Radio Schlock Shock Jock, has made true his promise and left Isle of Wight Radio.
Today was his last show and he’ll apparently be going to a new radio station, which is to be backed by Martin Potter, he of Island Life magazine and The Gazette.
Let’s hope he’s a bit better behaved at his new home, so OFCOM doesn’t have to come down on the new radio station like they did after Mr Dyke was rude to a woman who called into IW Radio about the schools debate on 13 February 2008, and they lost the recordings of the show, breaching OFCOM rules.
By strange co-incidence we listened to Alex’s now once a week phone-in today and it was noticeable how Laissez-faire he was – as if he didn’t have a care in the world that people weren’t phoning in, in their previous numbers.
Todays news would point to why that was … as ‘e knew he was orf.
Funnily enough VentnorBlog had been thinking how lovely it would to have him on-board the good ship VB. Guess we’ll just have to bide our time. Oh well.
