Get Online Day: Head To Riverside Centre

This coming Friday is National Get Online Day.

Get Online Day: Head To Riverside CentreAcross the country, UK Online Centres will be helping people get online and the Isle of Wight will be doing their bit too.

As you’re reading this online, it’s probably a given that you’re Internet savvy already, but if you know someone who hasn’t a clue about what the Internet has to offer or any idea of how to get online, then why not encourage them to head to the Riverside Centre in Newport Quay.

Between 10am and 4pm they’ll have experts on hand to advice and inform.

We hear that the Town Crier, Shirley Ballard, will be doing her bit to make passers by aware of the event and Cllr Arthur Taylor will also be joining in the fun.

But this list of stars doesn’t end there. It appears that ex-corrie star, Johnny Briggs, is also backing Get Online Day.

Johnny said, “I bought a laptop a year ago and I’m ashamed to say it’s never been out of the box. When I heard about Get Online Day I decided to make October 2009 the month I got to grips with computers and the Internet by visiting my local UK online centre.

“Along with thousands of others, I’m taking on the Get Online Day ’09 challenge and facing my fears – why don’t you be a part of it too!”
