As we Tweeted earlier today, Isle of Wight Festival got in touch with us today to let us know that there’d be a “Big Announcement” early Tuesday morning.
More than that, they would not say. Not even a peep. Fear not, we tried, but their didn’t crack.
Given that the Sunday night headliner hasn’t been announced, it could well be that – and as we know there’s been some speculation that it might be Paul McCartney.
Rather teasingly, when we asked previously, the IW Festival team wouldn’t say yay, or nay to his Macca-ness – or even say that they weren’t saying yay or nay!
Has it leaked?
Well there’s another clue that just arrived via VB follower Josh Peverley. He noted that the Scottish TV site is saying that dear old Paul is playing Glasgow on 20 June – BUT at the bottom of the article it causally says “He will also play at the Isle Of Wight Festival on June 13.”
13 June is a Sunday this year.
Once we started looking, the article with this info appears in loads of publications, so it’s likely to either an unedit press release, or it’s been written by one of the wireservices.
