Isle of Wight Festival: Paul McCartney Confirmed HeadlinerHe’ll be closing the festival on the Sunday evening.

We’re wondering if it’s the fact that he’s now 67, passing his sixty-fourth birthday, that he’s now chosen to play on the Isle of Wight.

Following his appearance at the Festival, it’s currently unclear if “Every summer he’ll rent a cottage in the Isle of Wight,” but owners of reasonably-priced holiday cottages are hoping to provide him a number of options, fulfilling his criteria, “if it’s not too dear.”

In a quote in the press statement, Paul McCartney says: “I always remember hearing such great things about this festival and it has such a sense of history with the likes of Jimi Hendrix playing there the first time round. This will be my first show on the Isle of Wight and I’m looking forward to a rollicking night of rock n’ roll”.
