A petition to help save the Riverside Centre from the impact of recent budget cuts to vulnerable people on the Island has been created.
The Petition created by Matt O’Crowley states …
Around 100 service users and providers at the centre have been told funding cutbacks, totalling around £110,000, could be on the cards and rent demands from the council could be £120,000 “” a fifth of the centre’s income.
This will put the future of an invaluable community resource under threat of closure which will have knock on implications for the many other small community organisations that rely on the centre to facilitate their own work.
We urge central government invention, in what could be a catastrophic loss to some of our island’s most vulnerable individuals.
If you wish to support the petition, head over to the 10 Downing Street site to add your name.
