Congratulations to Serena Courage, co-owner of Made On The Isle of Wight for the great feature in last Saturday’s Daily Mail You Magazine.
We came across the article online and were fascinated to read her story.
Having met Serena and her husband Robin and been along to their new venture, Made On The Isle Of Wight, it was very interesting to read the background of how the business came about.
First foray into retailing
The shop, which is based on the outskirts of Ryde (and also online), is the couple’s first foray into retailing.
However, both have a wealth of experience in industries that are beneficial to the new business. Robin’s background is extremely varied, but he’s worked in marketing and PR for many years, having worked for the late Princess of Wales as well as preparing New York’s bid for the 2012 Olympics.
Serena’s career was writing for magazines, something which has stood her in good stead for the venture’s blog updates and tweets, which do a great job of enticing shoppers to try out their Wight delights.
Shop stocks produce from across the Island
The shop stocks items made and produced on the Island and features a wide variety of goods. If you haven’t been along yet, it’s well worth a visit.
The Daily Mail feature is a great advert for the Island as well as Robin and Serena’s new venture and we wish them well.
