Great to hear that the Waterside Pool will be formally handed over to the Waterside Community Trust from 1st December 2011.
As readers will remember, the not-for-profit company limited by guarantee was set up by a group of local people keen to keep Waterside Pool open, save the jobs of its employees and with the support of the community, develop a first class leisure facility.
We hear that a letter is going out to all One Card holders advising them of the changes to the ownership of pool and details of new charges.
Costs, we’re told, are very competitive and a member who chose to swim six days per week would pay just 77p per visit with a six month membership!
The letter explains how the memberships works and encourages those who swim at other pools on the Island to try Waterside. The pool has the novel glass roof which is slid open on hot days and sits next to the boating lake.
