Those who have commented on the proposed Asphalt Plant at Medina Wharf, Cowes may be interested to know that the Isle of Wight Council have written to the applicants requesting further information.
Readers will remember that at the public meeting last month, several inaccuracies in the application were highlighted by campaigners.
Further consultation may take place
The IWC’s Planning Website states, “The letter formally requests additional information which is required to determine precisely the potential impacts of the proposals.”
The council go on to say that if the applicant does submit new information, there will be “a further period of consultation to allow respondents to submit comments”.
No response from Secretary of State
The IWC Planning Website also states, “The Secretary of State is also considering a request to direct whether a formal Environmental Statement (ES) is required under the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations. The response is expected by mid June.”
We’ve been in touch with the council and they say that planning officers have not yet received a response from the Secretary of State.
The letter from the council can be found on the Planning Website page down to bottom of list of documents.
