Following the news last week that Northwood county councillor Roger Mazillius is not planning to stand for election next May, news of other councils stepping down has emerged.
Thanks to On The Wight reader Jon for sharing details about his local councillor for Lake South, Tim Hunter Henderson.
Cllr Henderson delivered his message to constituents last week in the form of flyer through the letterboxes, on which he stated that he will not stand in the local elections in May.
He’s been a councillor since 2005 and says 2013 will be the right time to stand down, allowing him to concentrate on other things that he has been putting off, such as his work with the Federation of Small Businesses and some travelling.
In his place for the Isle of Wight Conservatives will be plumbing and heating businessman, Ray Bloomfield.
