Isle of Wight MP, Andrew Turner, along with Deputy Leader of the Isle of Wight council and Mayor of Ventnor, Steve Stubbings were guests of honour at the official opening of a new Post Office in Ventnor this morning.
Following the closure of the main Post Office in Church Street last week, Debbie and Bob from Seasons Newsagents on the High Street are now providing full Post Office services in the custom-built Post Office at the back of the newsagents.
Jobs retained
Former Post Office staff, Carol Dashwood, Stephanie Smith and Maureen Brown have all moved over to the new Post Office, retaining their jobs. Whilst Aidan Frame, who recently returned to Ventnor from Winchester has been taken on as an extra member of staff.
The new Post Office will be open 7.30am to 5.30pm Mondays to Saturdays and 7.30am to noon on Sundays.
