The Arts Trail returns to the Isle of Arts Festival

The Isle of Arts Festival taking place in Ventnor over this coming May bank holiday weekend (1st-4th May) is bursting at the seams with all things creative.

As well as all the shows, workshops and talks you can attend, as you might imagine, there is also LOTS of Art to see.

The Arts Trail
An important and always popular part of the festival, the Arts Trail provides festival goers with the opportunity to discover a spectacular collection of paintings, sculptures and other Art installations.

Mostly created by Island artists, they are displayed in a number of venues around the town and seafront and well worth a stroll through the town during your visit to the festival!

Many are for sale, and some of the artists are happy to take commissions too.

A separate Arts Trail leaflet is available from the box office and participating venues or download the PDF (warning: large file)

The Great Isle of Wight Paint Off
Isle of Arts will be also hosting a first this year, The Great Isle of Wight Paint Off.

Taking place along Ventnor’s glorious seafront on Sunday 3rd May, this live, open-air art competition is expected to attract talent from all four corners of the Island and beyond.

Artists taking part will be asked to complete their artwork between 10am and 4pm on the subject “either the sea at Ventnor or an aspect of Ventnor as seen from the seafront”.

After the 4pm claxon has been sounded, the artworks will be taken up to the Ventnor Winter Gardens, where judging and prize-giving take place.
