Relatives of a 24 year old man from Sandown have alleged he was ‘brutally assaulted’ by six security guards on Sunday night at the Isle of Wight Festival.
OnTheWight was told the incident has been reported to the police, who – the victim’s sister says – are “sourcing information and taking witness statements”.
“Left him unconscious on the side of the road”
Several members of the extended family have spoken openly on social media about the incident. The following message by one of the victim’s sisters was posted on Facebook on Monday night,
“So last night while most of you were enjoying Kings of Leon at the IOW Festival my brother was being brutally assaulted by 6 of the security men in the back of a land-rover just by the main stage.
“He was held down and repeatedly kicked and punched in all over his body including his head! They robbed him and left him unconscious on the side of the road – for NO REASON!
“These men need to be caught, how many other people did this happen to this weekend? The police are involved but we want this to go public!!”
OnTheWight has been in touch with the police and Festival organisers for comment and will update once we hear back.
