If you’re a lover of art and fancy a trip off this Island this weekend, you might be interested in popping along to the 30th anniversary of the Art Space in Portsmouth.
Close to Portsmouth City Centre, on the edge of Southsea, for the last 30 years, the Art Space has been a haven for artists and art-lovers.
Established in 1980, by Fine Art staff and graduates of the then Portsmouth Polytechnic, it is one of the oldest studio groups in the UK. Some 30+ artists now take advantage of the low cost studio space in the former Chapel on Brougham Road.
This weekend, the studios will open their doors for the annual Open Studios Weekend.
It’s your opportunity to view new work from painting to performance, and come face-to-face with the artists involved and an auction takes place on Sunday afternoon for those wanting to buy.
