Residents of the Isle of Wight, who play People’s Postcode Lottery, will be delighted to discover today (Friday 19 February) that they are set to share a £3 million prize pot after their postcode, PO30 1, was drawn as the winner of the February Postcode Millions.

Winners will receive their lucky gold invitation in the post today and will be invited to attend a special event at Landguard Manor, Landguard Manor Road, on Saturday 27 February to find out how much they’ve won. This is the first time an Isle of Wight postcode has scooped People’s Postcode Lottery’s top prize.

With a minimum of 27.5% going to good causes across Great Britain and internationally, players have raised over £104.2 million for charities.

Boost for Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust
One good cause to have benefited from funding is the Isle of Wight based Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust which has received £525,000 in funding to date from players of the charity lottery.

The invaluable funding has been used to increase the number of young people in recovery from cancer who sail with the Trust and most recently is helping the Trust buy a new boat.

The aim of the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust is to give young people in recovery from cancer the chance to rebuild their confidence through sailing. The Trust works with every young person’s primary cancer care unit in the UK, taking young people aged between 8-24 who are in recovery from cancer.

Founder of the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust, Dame Ellen MacArthur, said:

“Huge thanks to players of People’s Postcode Lottery for supporting the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust. It is so exciting that the Postcode Millions has arrived here on the Isle of Wight for the first time! Good luck to all the players!”

Congratulations to all of the lucky players
People’s Postcode Lottery Ambassador and supporter of the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust, Danyl Johnson, said:

“I am so excited to be heading back to the Isle of Wight. I’ve sailed with the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust on a number of occasions so it’ll be great to head to their headquarters for a visit whilst I’m down.

“Players will be so excited to hear that their postcode is set to share the £3 million prize pot. Congratulations to all of the lucky players!”

Organisers will reveal more details regarding the cheque presentation, including the minimum amount winners can expect to receive, in the coming days.
