This April, Monkton Arts in Ryde will once again be the focal point for wool enthusiasts as it hosts the return of the beloved exhibition, A Celebration of Wool.

Taking place from 3rd to 26th April, the event promises to weave together a rich tapestry of activities, an exhibition and workshops dedicated to the art and craft of wool.

Exhibition highlights
The exhibition celebrates wool’s versatility as both an art and craft medium. It will showcase a variety of techniques, including spinning, knitting, weaving, and both wet and dry felting.

This year, the event aims to attract a wide audience, from seasoned crafters to those newly interested in the wonders of wool.

In addition to the exhibition, Monkton Arts will offer a series of engaging workshops throughout the month. Highlights include An Introduction to Wet Felting by Chris Lines, Learn or Improve Spinning Skills with Jane Cooke, Create a Picture from Wool with Loren Thorn (Loren’s work pictured above), and Learn to Knit Baby Socks with Jane Lithgow.

These workshops give you a unique opportunity to dive hands-on into the world of wool crafts under the guidance of experienced artisans.
