IWCF LogoGiving to local charities, community groups and supporting local projects is an inspiring, highly rewarding way to help your local community.

Now, a unique and innovative method of helping the local community is coming to the Island with the Isle of Wight Community Discount Card.

A range of discounts for residents and visitors
The card will provide visitors to the Island as well as Island residents with a range of discounts and benefits provided by retailers, hoteliers, restaurants and bars, visitor attractions and leisure venues.

The Isle of Wight Community Discount Card is being produced by Gift to Community (Gift), a Hampshire based Social Enterprise business, in partnership with the Island’s own Isle of Wight Community Fund (IWCF).

Proceeds from the sale of the card, which will cost just £2.00 per family, will be donated directly to the IWCF by Gift. A percentage will also go back to the businesses who sign up to the scheme.

Speaking recently, Krissy Lloyd, administrator for IWCF said, “The role of the voluntary and community sector on the Island is growing in importance and the IWCF is constantly looking for ways to increase the funding we can offer to it. The new Isle of Wight Community Discount Card is a fantastic opportunity for everyone to help these vital grassroots groups and we hope local businesses and attractions will come on board to help us make a difference where it really counts.”

Business Awareness Day
Any retailer wishing to take part in the scheme, or who wishes to find out more information is invited to a Business Awareness Day on Wednesday 30th March, to be held at Newclose County Cricket Ground, Blackwater.

Presentations will be held at 11.00am, 1.30pm, 4.30pm and 6.30pm where refreshments, light snacks and the bar will be available for visitors to purchase.

Adam Gregory, Managing Director of Gift, the company behind Gift to Community, said, “We are delighted to be bringing this new initiative to the island before anywhere else in the UK and to be launching a business awareness day within the beautiful surroundings of Newclose. The work that the IWCF undertake is invaluable and we will play a full part in increasing those people who are helped, whilst also providing a platform for residents, tourists and businesses alike to benefit as well. “
