The Ability Dogs 4 Young People Fun Dog Show, held recently at the Charity’s Training Centre, was a huge success, with supporters turning out in force to enjoy a fantastic afternoon of fun.
Visitors and their four-legged friends took part in a wide range of classes, from Handsomest Hound to Waggiest Tail, celebrating dogs of all shapes and sizes. The focus of the show was most certainly on ‘fun’ — with owners impressively colour-matching their outfits to their pooches, while others wagged their tails with all their might to impress the judges.
With rosettes and dog treats a-plenty, the energy and enthusiasm were most definitely rewarded.
Alongside the show ring, there were stalls, games, and delicious refreshments, creating a lively and welcoming atmosphere for all. With the sun shining throughout the afternoon, the event proved to be a wonderful community gathering, bringing together dog lovers from across the Island.
Thanks to the incredible support from everyone who attended, the event amazingly raised £1200 for the Charity. These vital funds will go directly towards the training and care of the ever-growing fleet of Ability Dogs.

With over 120 dogs across all stages of training and qualification, Ability Dogs 4 Young People maintains its lifelong commitment to Recipients — supporting every financial aspect of each dog’s working life, and never falling short on its promise to ensure every dog receives the very best care, love, and attention.
Behind every Ability Dog is a dedicated team of Volunteers, Staff, and Trainers. The Fun Dog Show was a brilliant opportunity for the public to meet the team — both the humans and the dogs — and to find out more about the incredible impact the Charity has across the Island.
If you missed out, don’t worry. A Fun Dog Show will also feature as part of the Charity’s Gala Weekend celebrations, taking place on the 7th and 8th of June — a weekend not to be missed. This even bigger event will include stallholders from across the Island, a display of classic cars, and the highlight of the weekend: demonstrations from the Ability Dogs and Puppies in training — plus so much more.
