Money was raised earlier this year by pupils at Ryde Academy on World Water Day. The donations will help the women and children in Kasozi, Uganda who often have to carry 20kg of water over long distances.
Ryde Academy Dance Teacher, Hilary Seaton, had the honour of being invited to a lunch in Cardiff to celebrate Rubicon Dance’s 40th birthday where she was told that dancers at the Academy are some of the best in the country.
Ryde Academy student, Georgia Holmes, and school first aider, Michael Hine, both represented the Isle of Wight St John Ambulance Service at the Hampshire Civic Event at Winchester Cathedral on Sunday.
Ryde Academy Students have been spending time at Bodster CIC and through interaction with horses have been learning some important social and life skills.
The Isle of Wight College, which will cease A-level provision this year, saw the highest A-level results in the state sector. There's been great improvement for Sandown Bay Academy too.
This is very good news for the staff, pupils and parents. Ofsted have seen a dramatic improvement in the culture of the school and can see it's well on the way to becoming a 'Good' school. Well done to all involved.
The trip was an exciting opportunity to see history come alive and to visit some of the historical sites the students have learnt about as part of their respective GCSE and A-Level studies.
