Age UK Isle of Wight is excited to announce the addition of five new Trustees to their board, marking the charity’s most successful recruitment campaign to date.
The “Become A Trustee” campaign, launched in May, aimed to attract individuals living on the Island who are passionate about improving the lives of older people and making a positive impact in the community. The response was overwhelming, leading to the closure of the expression of interest portal within the first few weeks of the campaign due to high demand.
New perspectives and experiences
A spokesperson for Age UK Isle of Wight said,
“We were thrilled to see the incredible response from individuals on the Isle of Wight who are eager to support our charity and older members of our community.
“We look forward to welcoming the new perspectives and experiences they will bring to our Trustee board.”
New Trustees
As Trustees, Heather Bentley, Sara Coleman, Margaret Huxtable, Martin Bostock, and Martyn Pearl will bring a wealth of experience and insights to the established board. With these new additions to the organisation, the charity feel they will be able to enhance their ability to support and advocate for older individuals in our community.

A voluntary and unpaid role
The Trustees were appointed at the end of June to early July 2024, and are currently undergoing their induction to the charity. The role of a Trustee at Age UK Isle of Wight is voluntary and unpaid, underscoring the commitment and dedication of these individuals.
