Appeal To Trace Possible Motorcycle Witness To Road Collision

Police are continuing enquiries to trace a motorcyclist who may have information about a road traffic collision near Ryde on the Isle of Wight.

The collision involved three cars, a Citroen Xsara, a Ford Fiesta, and a Ford Focus, on Ashey Road near the Sea Mark monument.

No serious injuries were reported at the scene of the collision, which happened at approximately 6.50pm on Friday, January 28, 2011.

Three car drivers
The Citroen driver was a 30-year-old woman from Ryde, Isle of Wight. The Ford Fiesta was being driven by a 17-year-old youth from Sandown, Isle of Wight. The Ford Focus was being driven by a 45-year-old man from Kent.

Investigating officer PC Ben Mitchell of the Isle of Wight’s Targeted Patrol teams (TPT) said: “Officers have carried out numerous enquiries over the past month and spoken with the drivers involved.

“We’re still pursuing unconfirmed reports that a motorcyclist may have been affected by this collision as well, but left the scene before police arrived. This rider is believed to be an important witness to what happened on Ashey Road that evening.”
