It really has felt like the Isle of Wight has taken a battering from Storm Eunice today (Friday).
Trees down, windows blown, power lines down, flooding, roof tiles flying and more.
So it’s no surprise to hear that at 12.03pm today the good folks over at NCI Needles recorded a wind gust of 122mph.
The photo we’ve used is courtesy of the brilliant IsleofWight.com Webcam at The Needles when the wind gust struck.
The Met Office say that is “provisionally the highest gust ever recorded in England”.
Brace yourself for more
We’re told by the Environment Agency that it’ll happen all over again on Saturday, with Gale Force 8 South Westerly winds and large waves due around lunchtime.
It might feel as though things have calmed down, but it’s not quite time to unfasten your garden trampolines.
