There was a last-minute hustings hastily arranged last night (VB live coverage) by one of the candidates, Peter Harris.
Held at the Ambassador Snooker Club in Newport, five candidates made it along (Mark Chiverton (Lab); Ian Dunsire (English Democrats); Peter Harris (Ind); Paul Randle-Jolliffe (Ind); Paul St-John Martin (Middle England)), with the others sending their apologies. David Holmes chaired.
It was quite different to the Sandown hustings, with far more iteration with the audience.
VB recorded it, so those of you who couldn’t make it along can find out what was said.
As it wasn’t held in a separate room, the recording isn’t perfect, but a lot better than we thought it would be given the background sound.
Have a listen …

More hustings
David Holmes made the point at the end of the meeting that decades back there were many, many meetings held all over the Island where the candidates would attend more or less nightly to discuss and debate their policies. Perhaps that might happen in future elections.
