Island Roads has powers to recharge landowners for work to clear away trees that have fallen onto roads from private land, but say they prefer to work with them to avoid tree fall in the first place.
As well as improving this important element of the Island’s cycling and walking network, Island Roads will look to see if there is anything they can do in addition to support the local ecology.
