The sixth annual Wolverton Folk & Blues Fair will take place in the stunning grounds of Wolverton Manor, Shorwell, Isle of Wight on Saturday 14th May 2016 between 11.30am to 8pm.

We are very pleased to announce our special guest at Wolverton Folk & Blues Fair this year, award-winning bluesman from the USA, Eugene ‘Hideaway’ Bridges.

Soul drenched Rhythm & Blues at its danceable best.

Legendary blues guitarist
Born in New Orleans, seven times USA Blues Music Award nominee Eugene Bridges is a towering presence; a big man with a huge voice and great guitar skills. This legendary blues guitarist is a superb entertainer in the style of BB King and Robert Cray, playing an unparalleled brand of blues; oozing enough genuine charm to light up a small city.

If you like your blues music laced with soul, funk, gospel and rock, delivered with buckets of class and warmth, then Eugene and his band should not be missed.

Eugene will be flying in to Wolverton straight from The Blues Foundation Blues Music Awards, Memphis TN, USA in which he is nominated for Contemporary Blues Album & Contemporary Blues Male Artist.

And there’s more
As well as the Main Stage, the popular ‘Beer Tent Acoustic Stage’ will make a welcome return this year providing a full and varied programme, featuring some of the best Folk & Blues musicians the Isle of Wight has to offer.

Bands/Artists confirmed so far include Eugene ‘Hideaway’ Bridges Band, The Sail Pattern, Cajundaze, MoonShiners, The Gramophone Party, Spike Oatley, Damien Paul Band, Holly Kirby, Pete’s Sake, The Nick Cane Band, The Dollymopps, Wight Ukers, Figjam plus more to be announced.

After a sell-out successful launch in 2011, the festival has been gaining momentum with fantastic bands/artists each year along with locally produced food, children’s activities, tea tent and not forgetting the Real Ale tent!

Wolverton Folk & Blues Fair looks set to be a great opportunity to enjoy top live music and great festival food, set against the backdrop of the beautiful West Wight scenery.
