Bay CE School school closes due to power outage: Buses arranged to take students home

The Bay CE School has announced that it will be closed for the day due to power problems.

SSEN, the company responsible for the school’s electricity supply, has stated that they are working to fix the issue, but it will take at least two hours to complete. Additionally, there will be an additional hour needed for IT systems to reboot.

Concerns over safety
The decision to close the school was made due to concerns over food safety in the canteen and the overall safety of staff and students.

However, strict safeguarding measures have been put in place to ensure the safety of all students.

Requirements
According to the school’s announcement, students will be required to stay with their tutor until 10:00am.

They must also contact their parent or carer via mobile phone and receive confirmation that they have permission to leave the school. Students without a phone are advised to try and contact a parent through a friend.

If no contact can be made, students must go to the main hall to be supervised.

Furthermore, students must go straight home once they have received permission to leave.

Buses to take students home
Buses have been contacted and will take students home and will return to the school at 10:00am to pick up any remaining students.

Finally, students must leave the school site as soon as they are able to do so.
