Can there ever be too many DJs? I’ll keep my view on that one close to my heart, because after our April Fools spree on Sunday, it seems that those without a sense of humour aren’t interested in my view. Ah, diddums.
Anyway, 2 Many DJs are in fact the Dewaele brothers from German alternative rock band, Soulwax. They are better known for their monster mixes of tracks such as “DARE” by Gorillaz, “Daft Punk Is Playing At My House” by LCD Soundsystem and “Robot Rock” by Daft Punk and will be lifting the roof in the Big Top on Sunday night at Bestival. What a cracking way to end the weekend!
Listen out for their remix of “Ice Cream” by New Young Pony Club due out in May.
So who else is on the list?
If you haven’t heard of the excellent The Rumble Strips, sort yourself out and get over to MySpace. The four lads from Tavistock in Devon are on everyone’s lips at the moment and are going to be big in 2007.
Personally, I’m stoked to see the Easy Star All Stars on the list. They did an amazing rendition of Dark Side of the Moon at The Big Chill a couple of years ago – called Dub Side of the Moon. It was spot on Sunday afternoon material.
Kid Carpet will also be back for his fourth year at Bestival and first timers Xerox Teens (check out B54, brilliant), 3 Daft Monkeys, and Kid Harpoon will all be playing for your pleasure.
Mucho respect to Bestival people for securing such a top class and eclectic mix of music.
Oh, and they have a spanking brand new website. Available in Flash or HTML flavours. It’s looking mighty purdy.
