We’ve been on tenterhooks for the last couple of weeks, but finally news is here, the main stage on Sunday night will be welcoming the excellent Bobby Gillespie and his band of merry men. Yes, it’s Primal Scream.
The Scream have had a pretty diverse output over the last 20 odd years (blimey is it really that long?) from ’60s fuzz-rock to acid-house pop to hazy electronic psychedelia to politically charged noise-punk’.
And it’s certainly been a few years since I last saw them play last live (I think it was Glastonbury eons ago), but I’ll definitely be right up the front for this one. Look out for my impression of girl riding pogo stick.
A quick look at their MySpace (do you see a theme here?) reveals that the lads are spending the next few months firmly on their festival bus, travelling the length of the country getting on the festival vibe and saving the best for last.
Here’s what Rob da Bank has to say about it”¦”Screamadelica made me throw half my record collection out it was so good”¦ and they’ve just got better and better”¦ get ready to get your rocks off!”
More Bestival news coming up after breakfast.
Oh, and we hear that tickets are almost sold out, so get your skates on if you haven’t bought yours yet.
(And YES I was wrong with my guess)
