There was much excitement here at VB when it was announced that an extreme sports festival (very much like White Air) would be taking place to the Island this September.
Unfortunately we hear from organisers today, that the festival has been cancelled for 2010.
They say it is because of “potential threatened injunctive relief being sought by the owners of White Air Festivals Ltd”.
Big Blue organisers were keen to point out that they are “separate to the previous company that ran an extreme sports event on the Isle of Wight”
We understand that they’re hoping to return next year, but if you’ve already bought your tickets for 2010, you will be refunded in full.
No White Air either?
It also looks as though the White Air Extreme Sports Festival, which moved from the Island to Brighton last year, doesn’t seem to be taking place this year either.
The Brighton event would have been scheduled to take place over the same weekend as Big Blue.
All very curious!
