Binstead community urged to attend drop-in session about flood planning

The Isle of Wight council, in its role as lead Local Flood Authority (LLFA), is holding a community drop-in session at Binstead Community Centre on Monday 5 December, from 3pm until 7pm.

Representatives from the Isle of Wight council, Highways Authority, Southern Water and the Environment Agency will be present, along with ward councillor, Ian Dore.

Dore: It’s vital the community play a part in this
Cllr Dore said,

“We’ve all been working on this since the flooding last year and its going great guns. The money is secure, and some works have already been done.

“This though is where it gets interactive as there is much more to do with various options on the table. It’s vital the community play a part in this, and local residents are encouraged to come along at any time between 3pm and 7pm, to discuss some of the options being considered.

“This will help us address the flooding issues we have. I sincerely hope you can join us, helping to play a part in shaping the future of Binstead.”
