bob seely holding his hand up to presenter of politics live - BBC

Bob Seely’s performance on Politics Live is something Islanders should see

Isle of Wight MP, Bob Seely, was met with disdain from many on social media around the country following his performance on Thursday’s Politics Live programme on the BBC.

Viewers took to social media to share their views on the MP’s performance, many comparing him to a child, rude, arrogant and more.

Clearly agitated
As can be seen throughout the programme, Seely is clearly agitated, seen swinging around on his chair, persistently interrupting and talking over other panelists, and referred to them as “you people”.

Persistently impatient, bouncing back and forth on his chair, Seely even held his hand up to the presenter to silence her, whilst he continued dominating the discussion.

He’s even seen at one point (35 mins in) checking his phone – whilst someone else was talking – on live TV.

Seely: “I trust Kwasi. I trust Liz”
Of note were his words,

“I trust Kwasi. I trust Liz. We need to stick to our agenda.”

And,

“I think it’s really important that politicians keep their promises.”

24 hours later and the Chancellor has been sacked by the Prime Minister and replaced by Jeremy Hunt.

News OnTheWight was actually contacted by other local media outlets from around the country, noting how aggressive Bob Seely came across as.
