Bogeys, the only nightclub on the Isle of Wight with a full nightclub license is to close.
Rumours started earlier that the staff members had been given their notice, but today it’s been confirmed.
It’s the whole of the Wight City block that will close – The Jolly Sailor, arcade, cafe and, we understand, the apartments above.
The owner, Wayne Peak, has for a long time wanted to redevelop the whole block, but hasn’t been successful in getting planning permission.
This isn’t the first time that staff have been given their notice. Prior to Christmas 2010 it happened, but as so many people visited before it closed, the staff were kept on.
