Book to have your Christmas tree taken away for free

This reminder in from the council, Ed

Christmas may not have happened just yet, but residents can book to have their natural Christmas tree taken away from their kerbside in January when the festive period is over.

This free service will be available to book on the council’s website from Monday 21 December.

Christmas tree collections will be offered between 7 January and 4 February 2016 and any trees that are collected will be taken by waste contractor Amey for composting.

Trees will be picked up on the same day as your recycling waste. This service needs to be booked a minimum of three working days in advance of your normal recycling waste collection day.

How to book
When booking a collection, please remember:

  • If your next recycling day is on a Monday, book your green garden waste collection by 6pm on Wednesday.
  • If you next recycling day is on a Tuesday, book your green waste collection by 6pm on Thursday.
  • If your next recycling day is on a Wednesday, book your green waste collection by 12noon on Saturday.
  • If your next recycling day is on a Thursday, book your green waste collection by 6pm on Monday.
