Brading Town Council will screen a national climate documentary at the New Town Hall this Saturday.
The People’s Emergency Briefing sets out the risks that climate and nature breakdown pose to Britain’s food supply, health and national security.
The screening starts at 6.30pm on Saturday 12th September 2026, followed by a discussion.
One night only.
Free but ticketed because of limited capacity
The event is free, but organisers have made it ticketed because the New Town Hall has limited capacity.
Tickets are available through the Bullring Theatre, the venue’s resident company, or in person at the New Town Hall.
Mayor says film aims to cut through disinformation
Paul Garratt, Mayor of Brading, said,
“The Peoples’ Emergency Briefing is a 50 minute documentary film providing an unfiltered assessment of the latest threats to UK food supply, health and national security from nine leading experts.
“It aims to cut through disinformation, establish a common understanding of the risks, and support constructive local action.
“This film is being shown across the UK in town and community halls and is spreading out across the world.”
Several screenings already held across the Island
Several screenings of the film have already taken place on the Isle of Wight, and organisers plan more.
The film follows an event staged in Westminster in November 2025, where organisers say experts briefed more than 1,200 politicians and other public figures on the same risks.
Mayor urges islanders to come along
Mayor Garratt added,
“Please come along to see this hard hitting (age 16+ advised) screening and for an informal chat about what preparations we can make together.”
Islanders can book online or buy tickets in person at the New Town Hall in the run up to Saturday.
