The arrival of autumn will be celebrated in traditional style at Brading Roman Villa on Saturday 19th September, when the annual community Apple Day brings together local heritage, crafts, music, nature and family entertainment.
What to expect on the day
This much-loved free event offers visitors of all ages the chance to enjoy a day packed with traditional activities and demonstrations, while discovering more about the skills and customs that have shaped local life.
A highlight of the day will be traditional apple pressing, giving visitors the opportunity to see how apples are transformed using time-honoured methods. There will also be cider tasting, alongside a tempting selection of apple-inspired treats.
Activities for families and children
Families can get creative with kite making and arts and crafts, while the sounds of folk music and Morris dancing will add to the lively autumn atmosphere.
Visitors can also explore an autumn nature trail and meet some of the farm animals.
