Many thanks to Christian Beasley for sending through this video and photos from yesterday’s Brambles cricket match held on Bramble Bank.
The annual cricket match between the ghas been taking place on the sand bank in the middle of the Solent for donkey’s years.
The teams have to be quick about it though, as the area is only exposed for about forty minutes.
This year, the Royal Southern Yacht Club won the game and hosted the celebratory meal afterwards.

Morris Men on Brambles
We were lucky enough to make it to the Brambles a couple of years ago for a mass gathering of Morris dancers.
The whole thing was utterly surreal, from travelling over in a Hover bursting with Morris Men, to the eerie silence out on the bank when we first arrived.
The silence didn’t last long though, as the Morris Men piled out onto the sand and started working their magic.
