When cuts are taking place almost everywhere else, some areas remain unaffected.
We have just seen the full Isle of Wight council cut proposals which have just been outlined in preparation of the December Cabinet Meeting.
Here’s what they say about the Legal Services department …
Legal and Democratic Services. In recent years we have seen an expansion in the size of the legal team and this has enabled the Council to be more responsive and timely in dealing with legal issues and to reduce the associated costs in using outside legal firms.
It is proposed that whilst the Council has a number of significant projects to deliver, this service is subject to robust review to ensure that the current levels are still required.
