If you’re an artist who would like the chance to have your work exhibited on the mainland, read on for more details of an exciting open competition.
Orleans House Gallery in Twickenham has an open competition for artists to submit works for display in their May exhibition, Revolutions: Cycling and Art.
The exhibition, which takes place during 7-11 May this year, focuses on art works inspired by the bicycle “” from functional object to a canvas for good causes, personal expression and civic mindedness.
Artists can submit up to five original works, be they prints, photos, paintings, objects, sculptures or film.
The skinny
Follow the gubbins below and make sure you get a move on, as the deadline for submissions is 23rd April.
- Artworks must be submitted as high resolution jpeg files on a CD, with accompanying A4 sized photographic prints or colour printouts. Please do not send original artwork as this will not be accepted.
- Please clearly label each submission with artist’s name, title of work, date, media, approximate size and price before commission if the work is for sale (the gallery adds 40% of the artist price for commission + VAT).
- In addition, please enclose contact details, an artist’s statement and CV.
- If you would like images returned, please enclose a stamped self-addressed envelope.
- Successful artists will be contacted approximately two weeks after the deadline.
- Artwork needs to arrive at Orleans House Gallery on Thursday 6th May 10am-4pm.
