This week we’ve brought you news about the latest acts to play at Camp Bestival, the sister festival to, in our humble opinion, the best festival on the Wight, Bestival.
But Camp Bestival is not just about the music. It’s about the whole package and those inventive lot over at Bestival HQ have got a fantastic weekend of entertainment lined up for all the family.
As well as the music stage, Camp Bestival reveal that The Insect Circus Stage and Museum will be their second stage – there will be mad circus shows and trapeze mania.
We have it on good authority that Underbling and Vow will be joining in the fun every night, with their singalong Cockney knees up with Mickey The Fingers on piano and Rosie and Rosie going up the Elephant and down the Strand in a raucous fashion!
Bestival goers of past years will remember the Ukulele Orchestera – well, this year they’ll be teaming up with Masters Of The Kazooniverse – to create the largest marching band in the world (another world record?). Make you take along a cymbal, trombone or sousaphone to get stuck into the festi spirit!
It’s not all just about entertainment either – there will be mini science experiments and physics demos for kids and adults alike in the Physics In The Field area.
Blimey the list goes on, cream tea fanciers can join the Dorset Cream Tea Appreciation Society – a daily meet up of like-minded cake and cream addicts! Who’d have thought it?
Chill each evening around the flames of joy as the Campfire Sessions kick off – late night exclusive unplugged sets from some of the acts playing at Camp Bestival. Also out of respect for the great man himself and self confessed camp fire fanatic Camp Bestival will be supporting Strummerville – a charity set up in Joe Strummer’s memory – breaking new music, building great campfires and bringing a lot of heart and soul to Camp Bestival – check out the website for more info.
Finally, it wouldn’t be a Bestival party without some fancy dress fun – The Flaming Lips love fancy dress almost as much as the rest of us, so knock ’em dead and pack your favourite outfits for a weekend of fancy dress madness.
