Two by two, before the rain comes, filling with beings or beasts, adventure and luggage, the buses depart. Shuttling from the sea to the site the revellers move. Who can I be, what shall I wear to my Desert Island Disco?

Stacked with tents, glowing in the sun, bustling like an ant’s nest, green pastures moving with fun, young, happy people. The pearly gates of Bestival have sprung open.

Inside, masks on or are they off? Lost and hidden in the fields, until tomorrow ends we’ll mould and bend with sound, no time, just delight.

Unanimous, physical, exuberance
Coolness refreshes revellers looking for their next hit. Pretty strings of lights, coloured ribbons and flags, a fairy-tale setting rousing the dream. Thrusting with energy, laughter and heat, the explosion continues in the big-top, crowded, hot, loud and lasers.

Unanimous, physical, exuberance flooding the space; roars and cheers as the DJ calls to the crowd before dropping the tune. Beer spills, sweat drips, higher and higher, nothing matters now. Nodding at a friend not hearing what they say, smiles, laughter and joy; escapism runs the night, compelling all, now its a good time.

Euphoria reigns
Punching the air, splayed by the beat, heads are racing alive with the scene. The vibe rocks, kills and thrives, pulsing into the system, breathing, flying, heart pumping, adrenaline kicks-out raising the temperature high. Another set booming through the ribs, hitting the throat with bass, rhythm and sound fever. Vibrating, body rocking, is there anything to think? Euphoria reigns, tension driven, ignoring the regular, mundane, buzzing fast bypassing expectation, being free.

Exuberant and slaughtered, collapsed in a tent, the body rumbles, recovers and forgets. Awaking to the light, festering from what has been, another dance, more thrills, drawn by the tempo, emerging again to shake and thrive in the valley of pleasure.

As the dawn rises and the sets close, slowly, drifting the wanderers return.
