Don’t forget that this Saturday (22nd April) sees the return of Record Store at Ventnor Exchange.
As well as the exciting special vinyl releases, which often sees a queue of vinyl-lovers outside the Exchange pre-opening, there’ll be a lineup of live music throughout the day, as well as some of the young DJs from Brave Island hitting the decks with Ed Eldridge to show off their skills they have been honing.
Live music
Artists performing during Record Store Day include Jay Eatwell (1.20pm) fresh from his success on Channel 4’s The Piano and performing at The Royal Festival Hall (pictured).
Also look out for Cara Goodrem (11.40am), Oli Old (11am), Runners Up (3.30pm), KafTan (3.30pm), Ed Eldridge + Brave Island DJs (2.30pm) and DJ Gary C (from 9am).
Book signing
If you didn’t manage to get a ticket to see the former head of BBC Music, Mark Cooper, on Friday night at Ventnor Arts Club, there’s a second chance on Record Store Day when he’ll be signing books at the Exchange.
There’ll be a chance to buy and have signed ‘Later …..with Jools Holland, 30 Years of Magic and Mayhem’ from 10am in the Reading Room.
Mark co-created the Later …..with Jools Holland show in 1992 and went on to produce every show until his recent retirement.
