Catching up with the Ryde Harriers (updated)

15th October 2013
In the 5k handicap run first home was Jo Beak in an actual time of 28.12, second lady was Jane McGregor in 25.54 and third was Abi Cooke in 24.48.

First man home was Ken Beak in an actual time of 23.54, second man was Brian Warren in 24.10 and third was Graham Maitland in 21.25. Fastest lady on the night was Julie King running in 22.18 and fastest man was Joe Goodier in a time of 20.08.

Seven Ryde Harriers travelled to Prospect Park in Reading on Saturday to take part in the Hampshire Cross Country League. Good performances were achieved by all debut runners at this event.

In the U17 Men match Dominic Jacobs ran in a time of 21.51. In the ladies match Sarah Kavanagh was first lady home in 23.18 followed by Emily Wildon in 25.59. In the men’s match, first home for the Harriers was Tom Blackwell in a time of 33.24 close behind Tom as Les Cupis in 33.45. Followed by Pete Young in 34.03 followed by Paul Charlton-Smith in a time of 40.12.

In the five mile nominated Winter series race first was Julie King in 37.38, two seconds outside of her nomination. Second was Andrew Keehn in 38.35, 15 seconds outside of his nomination and third was Steve Haines, 19 seconds outside of his nomination in a time of42.49.

Fastest man on the night was Tom Blackwell in 32.58 and fastest lady was Sarah Kavanagh in a time of 34.33.

In the Snowdonian marathon at the weekend Les Cupis had a great run in a time of 3 hrs 22.01.

Meanwhile in the Great South Run, eight Ryde Harriers took part and first home was Dominic Jacobs in 1.12.24, Julie King 1.15.06, Mandy Womack 1.19.00, Emily Wildon 1.22.22, Jane Magregor 1.25.15, Brian Warren 1.31.25, Elaine Dove 1.42.27.
