Celebrate Red Squirrel Awareness Month with educational book launch at Quarr Abbey

Visit the Red Squirrel Trust at Quarr Abbey cafe on Wednesday 4th October to pick up your copy of the latest child’s story book, based on a red squirrel’s real life.

It’s written by Helen Butler MBE with illustrations by graphic artist, Kate Northover, who designed the snazzy road signs.

The book is part of The Isle of Wight Red Squirrel Trust’s educational programme and will be available as e-pub soon. Helen and Kate will be pleased to sign your book for you.

Helen will be there from 11am until 3pm and Kate is arriving after lunch.

Helen, who is also Chair of The Isle of Wight Red Squirrel Trust, said,

“Our population of Isle of Wight red squirrels are nationally important for the species, so we must do all we can to keep their habitat intact and this means engaging youngsters to understand and delight in our red squirrels.”

October is red squirrel awareness month so watch out for activities where you can join in.
