Quay Arts will be hosting a multitude of free drawing activities this August. Check out the range below.

In the lead up to the month long festival in October, Quay Arts will be transforming the Clayden Gallery this August into an active, evolving art making space that will explore fun drawing techniques, which will change throughout the exhibition period to host various drop-in workshops and self-guided drawing activities to celebrate the Big Draw Festival.
The drawing studio will include:
- Doodle Art wall, take part and add your own doodles!
- Drawing Prompts Challenge
- Reference and Drawing Books
- Drawing Resource wall, for self-facilitated drawing
The Big Draw @ Quay Arts
Step into the Minghella Theatre for a special Still Life setup featuring a curated selection of fascinating objects.
This is an opportunity to develop your observational drawing skills and Artist Izzy Kori will be on hand during both free sessions to offer guidance and support. No booking required — all materials provided.

Saturday 23rd August | 10am – 1pm
Join us for a relaxed drawing session with a giant still life, focused on looking closely and capturing what you see.
Children must be accompanied by an adult
Free | Observational Drawing Drop-In
Saturday 23rd August | 2pm- 4pm
Suitable for all ages, drop-in with artist Izzy Kori. Use our giant still life set up in the theatre to create your own observational drawings.
This will be a relaxed drawing session focused on looking closely and capturing what you see. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Kids Art: Still Life Drawing | £7
Saturday 24th August | 10am – 12pm
Join our monthly kids arts sessions led by professional artists with a different theme and activity each month.
All materials are provided and you will be able to take home what you make.

Drawn to Newport | Free
Saturday 20th August | 10am – 12pm
Have an arty walk around Newport and visit Quay Arts, Independent Arts and Newport Minster for a different plinth drawing challenge at each stop.
