Sandown’s popular New Year’s Day fireworks display from the end of the town’s pier is scheduled for 6pm this Sunday 1st January.
To allow safe spectator viewing, the Esplanade will be closed between Pier Street and Esplanade Road from 4.30pm until approximately 6.30pm.
Coueslant: Our first event of 2023
Organised by Sandown Carnival, chair Paul Coueslant says,
“Our spectacular display is usually visible all along the Bay and entices residents and visitors to get out and celebrate after Christmas.
“We’re delighted to put it on as our first event of 2023.”
Donations welcome
Sandown Carnival welcomes donations to help stage its events through the year, including the town’s summer parades and Sandown Bay Regatta. Donations can be made at the events or online.
Sandown Carnival supports RSPCA guidance to help keep pets calm and safe when fireworks are happening.
