Celebrating the life and legacy of Arlo Lambie: a community’s heartfelt tribute

The family of 16-year-old Arlo Lambie has shared the heartbreaking news that he passed away peacefully over the weekend, surrounded by the love of family and friends.

They said,

“Arlo held deep appreciation for the wonder and abundance of life and to the end shared it with generosity, love, grace, lightness, humour and compassion.

“Thank you for your incredible support. We look forward to celebrating Arlo and this amazing community with you all soon.”

Thousands of well wishers have shared their condolences online over the past 15 hours.

Grade 4 brain tumour
In October 2024, Arlo Lambie started suffering minor headaches, but this quickly spiralled into hydrocephalus, leading to urgent neurosurgery and a diagnosis of a rare type of grade 4 brain tumour.

Arlo’s story touched the lives of many Islanders and his positive attitude inspired all ages.

£110,000 raised
After Arlo completed treatment at Southampton Hospital, a fundraising appeal was launched to support treatment not provided on the NHS. Almost £110,000 was raised on the Isle of Wight to secure clinical and emotional treatment.

His family say that funds raised in Arlo’s name will support causes close to his heart.
