Talking of Expos, this week (Wed/Thurs) sees the return of the excellent Island Expo Catering and Hospitality Exhibition to Cowes Yacht Haven.
This event is an absolute _must_ for anyone, whether you’re in the industry or not.
Our good friends over at Taste of the Wight will once again be hosting their ‘taste kitchen’ which features a number of live demos from some of our favourite Island chefs.
This year however, Taste have a real treat in store for you as celebrity chef, Cyrus Todiwala, will be gracing the Taste kitchen and showing us how to create fabulous Indian cuisine using the best of Island produce.
If you have not heard of Cyrus, rest assured he is very well known in the industry. He is pipped as not ‘one of’, but ‘the’ most creative chef working in Indian cuisine today.
His restaurants are renowned for their innovative and fresh approach to Indian cuisine, and he has received countless awards for his consistently high standards, including Best Indian Chef in the UK, Best restaurant for business lunches, Investors in People Champion Organisation and British Curry Awards Industry Personality of the Year 2007.
In 2000, Cyrus was awarded an MBE in recognition of his contribution to education and training, for raising the general profile of the catering industry, and for sharing his extensive knowledge and skill with chefs, as well as businesses, in the tourism and hospitality industry. He regularly appears on television and radio including BBC Food and Drink, UK Today and Saturday Kitchen.
Also appearing live at the Taste Kitchen will be top local chefs local Jose Graziosi, Mark & Jack Young, Barry James, Luke Hosker, Robert Thompson and Roger Serjent.
If you don’t see anything coming out on the Blog over Wednesday and Thursday, you’ll know why and you’ll know that we’ll be eating well.
