We at VB know how important a working Chain Ferry between East Cowes and Cowes is for many of you.
That made us all the more delighted when VB reader Allan Marsh just got in contact with us to let us and you all know that the Chain Ferry has, literally just come into service again.
As Allan called, the traffic cones were, for the first time since the chain was snagged and the floating bridge was taken out of action, being removed and the first cars drove on to cross the Medina.
Hard work
Allan tells us that those working on fixing the chain over the last couple of days have been working into the night, as they battle against the tide.
UPDATE: 12:51 Many thanks to Allan for sending through the ‘as it opens’ photos, you can see in the gallery below.
