Cllr David Whittaker has put himself forward for two open seats on a couple of the Panels at the Isle of Wight council – The Health and Community Wellbeing Scrutiny Panel and the Economy and Environment Scrutiny Panel.

Following consultation with group leaders, the council may now allocate two seats on committees to Cllr David Whittaker. There is a vacancy on both the Health and Community Wellbeing Scrutiny Panel and the Economy and Environment Scrutiny Panel. Cllr Whittaker has indicated that he is willing to sit on both of these panels
At the start of this year Cllr Whittaker was found guilty of carrying out a sexual act in a public lavatory in Carisbrooke. After this, he resigned from the ruling Conservative group.
